mewtation: (and not long ago this phenomenal cat)
[personal profile] mewtation
I should have done this before even beginning to play him, to be honest, but this character is so yolo to begin with I embraced the spirit of it.

So! Despite whatever icons I'm using at the time or whatever, short of a Court transformation effect Lucky is and always will be a cat... ish thing. He's a genetically modified bioweapon, so in practice he's kind of a mishmash that I will eventually do a drawing for. But basically he looks like a bipedal black bobtail cat with pretty green eyes, about four and a half feet tall when standing properly. Noticable differences aside from size are that his muzzle is more apelike, his ears are longer, his hind legs' joints and proportions are shifted for bipedal walking and his front legs/torso have been similarly altered so that he can function either bipedally or on all fours. Similarly, both his forepaws and back paws have stubby fingers instead of toes and have thumbs to go with, but since he's a very deep black this just looks like polydactyly until you get close up or take a look at his footpads. IF I'VE MENTIONED HE LOOKS LIKE A KITTY, feel free to pick up on any or all of these regardless of whether I've described them in action tags or whatever.

However, Lucky is also kind of a godmode psychic who sometimes wants to interact with humans as a human, so more often than not he uses said godmode to disguise himself. This is not an illusion. Cameras and recording equipment are not fooled unless he's specifically trying to fool them, which takes more effort; what he's essentially doing is telling the minds around him "hey, when you look at me you experience what you would expect to experience from a human boy that looks roughly like this." As a result, he fools all senses: touch, smell, taste (although he'd probably laugh his ass off at that, because you would end up with a mouthful of cat hair that your brain was steadfastly refusing to acknowledge), etc. People out of range are not effected by this, but his range is pretty big.

(For those characters who are cyborgs: unless their brain is also mostly computer, they'd be fooled too. It isn't the visual equipment he's fooling, it's what's processing the input. For those characters who are robots... feel free to handwave either way? He can manipulate electronics to some extent, I am totally willing to say he can interact with robot minds. Whatever you think is more fun!)

Characters who know what Lucky's actual shape is can push past the illusion, but it's uncomfortable to do so; it results in uncomfortable dissonance between the parts of their mind operating under the suggestion and the parts that know what's really there. That can manifest as headaches, nausea, whatever, although chances are Lucky will ask them to stop pushing and/or offer to make an exception for them before they get that far. He's not doing this to hurt anybody :<
